Antonio Vargas is a New York City based actor, singer, director, and live and on-camera host. He also has extensive experience as a drama and creative movement teacher and choreographer. Originally from Puerto Rico, Antonio earned a B.A in Communications and Performing Arts from Emerson College in Boston, where he performed many musicals in the historic Majestic Theater. His favorite roles in clude Paul in A Chorus Line and Diego in the National tour of Dora the Explorer Live!
In New York CIty he is an ensemble member of Pregones Theater, a non-profit theater company with a space in the Bronx and an Off Broadway space on 47th Street. With Pregones, Antonio has worked as a performer in various of their musicals including Baile Cangrejero, a one man show based on Afro-Caribbean poetry and set to the rhythmic treasures of the percussive Bomba and Plena genres.
Antonio is a Helen Hayes Award Nominee for his work in 'Puerto Rico...¡fua!" at Gala Hispanic Thetare in Washington, DC.
